About Blane Conklin
Round Rock is my home. We moved here sixteen years ago for the quality of life Round Rock offered our young family and I found a good job in the area. We bought our first house here, and my older daughter started Kindergarten that Fall at Old Town Elementary. Now, my younger daughter is getting ready to graduate from Stony Point.
I want Round Rock to remain a place where a young family can afford to buy their first home, send their kids to great schools, and grow up in safe neighborhoods. It should also be a place where longtime residents can afford to stay in their homes as they grow older.
“I am running for Round Rock City Council, Place 2, because I want to ensure that Round Rock continues to be one of the greatest places to raise a family.”
Over the past two years, I served as a commissioner on Round Rock’s Historic Preservation Commission. I’m a member of the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce, and my wife is a small business owner. I have a PhD from the University of Chicago. I am a Senior Business Analyst at the University of Texas. My office coordinates the benefits and insurance for 125,000 employees and retirees across the state. Over 14 years, I have developed software and managed projects in nearly every area of this office, which manages a $1.3 billion self-funded medical plan.
We need to ensure that the quality of life that Round Rock is famous for is enjoyed by every family who calls Round Rock home, and by our children and grandchildren.
Round Rock is a special community with a rich history and an exciting future. Together, we can make it better.
